Many businesses today use Recruitment Agencies to fulfil full and part time positions as in most cases this process saves you, the employer, time and administration costs. The process, however, can also be flawed with time wasting agencies that, in their haste to win the placement, offer personnel that are only mildly suitable for the position or personnel that are very good at passing interviews but may not have the necessary commitment or skills.
Our advice would be to research any Recruitment Agency, that you may be considering, by simply entering the Recruitment Agency name followed by "problems" or a similar search term into a search engine. This will inevitably bring up pages where people have complained about their service. This is equally as important for the Employer as it is for the job seeker.
Competition in the recruitment industry is fierce with agents paid mostly on a commission basis which can lead to overzealous placement of personnel. We have found that this is the biggest cause of wasted time for Employers. Introduction of a pre interview stage where you contact the prospective employee with a few short questions, will often weed out the ones that have been put forward, sometime totally unaware of what the job entails.
